The location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful greenery and with a charming village nearby. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing information on walks and hikes in the Peak District. the hostel had a great kitchen facility with multiple fridges, cookers, and other equipment, making it easy to prepare meals. the free WiFi was a bonus, although it could be a bit temperamental.

The limited parking spaces, although street parking was available. Another issue was the check-in closing at 10pm, so it's important to arrive before then.

We had a truly exceptional stay in the beautiful peak district. the hotel was located in a separate building called the barn and it was just perfect for us. the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with ensuite bathrooms. the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and the food was top-notch. the views from the grounds were breathtaking and we loved exploring the surrounding area. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

The self catering kitchen was a bit small for the number of people.

I recently stayed at Yha Hartington Hall for a weekend getaway with my family. The hotel exceeded all our expectations. The value for money was excellent, with plenty of communal areas for different activities. The warmth and comfort throughout the hotel made us feel at home. The restaurant served delicious food with great quality and variety. Ted, the restaurant staff, was incredibly attentive and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The stunning views of the Peak District and the peaceful surroundings were a delightful bonus. The friendly staff at reception added to the warm atmosphere. The self-catering kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were comfortable with fresh bed linen. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful hotel.

    We do recommend this hotel.

We had a delightful stay at this luxurious hotel nestled between farms atop a hill in a quaint town. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside, with beautiful walks to Dovedale, Mill Dale, and Wolfscote Dale just a stone's throw away. The staff here were absolutely amazing, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The rooms were cozy and well-appointed, with amenities such as heating, free toiletries, and comfortable beds. We also enjoyed relaxing on the terrace with the lovely garden furniture, taking in the picturesque views. The shared kitchen was a great convenience, and the on-site restaurant and bar offered a delicious dining experience. our stay here was truly memorable and we would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We loved staying in this hostel with its cosy lounge areas and well-equipped self-catering kitchen. The library with a wood fire was an added bonus, as it encouraged chatting with new friends. The location is amazing, right in the centre of the picturesque town, with plenty of walking territory around with beautiful views.

    Nothing to dislike.

The value for money at Yha Hartington Hall was fantastic - spacious rooms and comfortable beds made for a great stay. The location was perfect, with beautiful grounds and trails right across the street, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

The breakfast selection could have been better, with perhaps some more variety in the options available.

We had an amazing stay at Yha Hartington Hall! The value for money was outstanding, and our room in the converted barn was like a dream holiday cottage. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the facilities were top-notch. We especially loved the beautiful surroundings and the relaxing areas both inside and outside the hostel.

The breakfast could have been improved with some more variety or options.

We had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful village and enjoying the nearby walking trails. The old hall where we stayed was well looked after and had a lovely charm. The staff at Yha Hartington Hall were friendly and made us feel welcome. The restaurant, although closed when we wanted to use it, looked very inviting and we regretted not getting there earlier. We also appreciated the well-stocked bar and enjoyed the food options available. we had a pleasant stay and would recommend Yha Hartington Hall to others.

I had a great stay at Yha Hartington Hall for three nights as a solo traveler. The triple room I booked had a lovely view of the front garden and a convenient en-suite shower. The catering facilities in the courtyard were pristine, and I enjoyed the availability of board games. The bar offered good value basic food, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The village itself was charming, with plenty of local walks and the beautiful River Dove. Polly's tea shop in Milldale was a delightful treat, as was the food at the Devonshire Arms. a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

    Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room we stayed in was spacious and had enough room to accommodate all of our belongings. We especially appreciated the drying room, which came in handy after getting caught in the rain. The staff were excellent and provided great service throughout our stay. They were knowledgeable and friendly, making us feel welcome. the location was perfect for exploring the Peak District, offering beautiful scenery and a great base for outdoor activities.

The breakfast was not up to par. The meat and vegan sausages were dry and the plastic white bread rolls were not enjoyable.
